Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast
**A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued Thursday from 8 p.m., to Noon Friday for Williamsburg, James City, York, Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, Surry, Sussex, Accomack, Northampton (VA)
Rain, snow, and ice to end the work week… Expect cloudy skies and scattered rain showers through most of the day. Rain will become more widespread this afternoon to evening. A wintry mix will blend in after 8 PM for areas on the Peninsulas and Eastern Shore. Highs today will only reach the mid 40s with winds picking up.
The rain and wintry mix will continue for Friday morning, tapering off by midday. The best chance for snow accumulation will be on the Eastern Shore, Middle Peninsula, and northern Peninsula. Ice accumulation could be an issue for areas closer to I-95. Temperatures will struggle to reach 40 tomorrow with strong NE winds at 10 to 20 mph and higher gusts.
Another round of rain will move in on Saturday. Some snow could mix in, but most of the snow will be to our north and west. It will be windy on Saturday with NE winds at 10 to 20 and higher gusts. Highs temperatures will struggle to reach the low 40s. Rain chances will drop but clouds will linger for Sunday with highs in the low 40s and north winds at 10 to 15.
